Age Better Volunteer

Would you like to help older people who are experiencing social isolation? By becoming an Age Better Volunteer with SOAR, you can help people to reconnect with their local community through one-to-one support or group activities.

Early Years Volunteer

If you are interested in working with young children and families, are friendly and have good listening skills, we have volunteer opportunities that may be just what you are looking for! SOAR is looking to recruit volunteers who are residents, or people who have local knowledge of High Green, Firth Park and Wincobank, to offer their time to assist in Angram Bank, Firth Park and Brightside Family Centres.

Recovery Coach

Adults & Adults with Dementia Gardening Club Volunteer

Want to make a difference in your community? Chapeltown Community Forum are recruiting volunteers to help run a new gardening club for older adults and adults with dementia in Chapelgreen. Free dementia training provided!

Toddler Group Volunteer

The Longley 4G Toddler Group runs on Wednesdays 9.30-11.30. Starting September 4th 2019.

We welcome preschool children and their parents/carers. Your role will be to;

  • Plan fun sessions and set out the equipment and toys
  • Play with the children
  • Talk to parents/carers
  • Supervise activities
  • Tidy away at the end of the session
