SOARs Volunteering Team runs a series of placements and activities aimed at empowering local residents, to learn new skills, make friends and to enable their progression into employment.
All activities are co-produced by both staff, volunteer and clients in mind, and range from Befriending, Administration, and Mental Health support to leading Chronic Pain and Women’s Only Support groups.

Age Better volunteers
Are you aged 50+? Would you like to help older people who are experiencing social isolation? By becoming an Age Better volunteer with SOAR you can help people to reconnect with their local community through one-to-one support or group activities. If you can give a few hours a week to support somebody experiencing loneliness then let us know.
Early Years volunteers
Early years volunteers support pregnant women and families in their local children’s centre and community. Full training and support is given by Homestart to ensure that the role is rewarding and fun.
