Welcome to the team!

Here at SOAR, we are constantly evolving and changing in the pursuit of excellence. To help achieve this, our recruitment processes are about getting the right people, to fit the right posts. Here is an introduction to the latest members of our team:

Sophie Richards - Centres Coordinator

I’ve just started as a Centres Coordinator, greeting tenants and staff at SOAR Works and our other sites. I’m really excited about the people I’m going to meet and to help keep the SOAR Centres running smoothly! In my spare time I enjoy being creative - tattooing and doing illustration work.

Haseena Slack - Lead Family Coach

I'm the new Lead Family Coach, leading and supporting the Family Coaches who are working with families to improve their lives through sustainable and achievable changes.

I'm excited to be working with an incredible team and seeing how we progress together whilst continually putting into action the values of SOAR. To be able to work within our communities and build those incredible relationships as well as seeing the positive impact we have on the communities we are serving.

I am a mum of two wonderful children, one of each! They keep me busy outside of work. I like to keep active, whether that's a Peak District hike or a little dance, happy to be moving! I also like a good movie night in but for those that know me, I love a good murder mystery! A real life Sherlock. If you happen to want to get on my competitive side, please invite me for a games night, just be warned the quick wit and trash talk is strong!

Julian Outram - Family Coach

I will be working as a Family Coach in partnership with Sheffield Children’s Hospital (SCFT) along three pathways (emergency dept, emergency dental, and complex care). We aim to support families to access and navigate health services more confidently, and the result can empower families to take control of their health and wellbeing, as well as address health concerns before they become more complex and difficult to treat.

I am really excited to be a part of this pilot project over the next two years. I believe that we have a great team with many strengths that can be shared and developed. I like the creativity, independence, and sense of community which SOAR embodies. SOAR feels like a place where I can grow and develop in a supportive and uplifting way, working with like-minded and dedicated people to create positive change.

Outside of work I like to sleep! All jokes aside, I am a massive sci-fi nerd and also love to read non-fiction (natural history, ecology, plant science, psychology, and more). I play some video games too which help me to switch off. I am a cat dad and love animals, but also own way too many house plants. I love being out in nature, either gardening or walking in the many woods we are lucky to have on our doorstep. I like painting, drawing and crafting. I’m looking to do more nerdy things with other people. Board games anyone?!
