We are loving our chronic pain groups that one of our Wellbeing Coaches delivers in partnership with Foundry Primary Care Network, providing support and guidance for people living with chronic pain. Read on to hear about what happened at the groups in January:
We kicked off 2025 with support from a Physiotherapist, Personal Trainers, a Singing for Lung Health & Wellbeing Practitioner, and SOAR’s Wellbeing Coaches!
Tuesdays: (1pm – 2pm every Tuesday at Firvale Community Hub)

January was our final month with physio Lauren from Nuffield supporting group members one-to-one and leading on whole group seated activities. We wish Lauren all the best with her new career in Doncaster!
We were also very lucky this month to have a visit from Alison Cadman, the fantastic physio from Physio Works, who joined in on our session and talked to us all about sleep, rest, and relaxation.
We can currently working on bringing dance to the group – watch this space!
Wednesdays: (11am-12pm every Wednesday at The Burngreave Ashram)

This January we moved the Men’s Group move to The Ashram Community Building on Spital Hill with Stefan continuing to lead the group every Wednesday 11am- 12pm.
The men have spoken about important topics including sleep, movement, and nutrition this month with the help of Arabic interpreters.
The next few months will see some guest speakers attend the group – more details to follow!
Thursdays: (11am – 12:30pm every week at Burngreave Vestry Hall)
The Thursday Women’s Group had an exciting December!

Helen who is a Singing for Lung Health & Wellbeing Practitioner returned for a session with the fantastic speech and language therapist Karen Esposito helping us to understand the importance of breath in relation to our wider health.
We had Louise the Personal Trainer lead chair exercises and really encourage the women to move and strengthen their bodies with the resistance bands, as well as leading a very important session on foot strength and ways to improve.
We are excited for International Women’s Day and the event that we will be enjoying in a few weeks time – flyer below!
