Welcome to SOAR
Here at SOAR, we are constantly evolving and changing in the pursuit of excellence. To help achieve this, our recruitment processes are about getting the right people, to fit the right posts.
Alex Thomson – Single Point of Access Coordinator
Alex joins the organisation as a Single Point of Access Coordinator and is responsible for working across North2 Primary Care Network, managing all social prescribing referrals from GP’s in the area and signposting clients to the services that best suit their needs.
“I am most excited about all the new people I will meet, making new connections with different projects, helping to shape the S.P.A Coordinator role and having a positive impact on people’s health and wellbeing.
Out of work, I enjoy walking and exploring in the Peaks, attempting to grow things on my allotment and spending time with family and friends.”
Margaret Barker – Single Point of Access Coordinator
Margaret joins the organisation as a Single Point of Access Coordinator and is responsible for GPs and Health Professionals to triage referrals and signpost them to a suitable service to support their social needs.
“I am most excited about working with local residents to support improvements in their health and wellbeing. I look forward to having a positive impact on the community and contributing to improving health inequalities.
My background is in the Fitness Industry where my career spanned well over twenty-five years, previously I taught group-based fitness classes, Aerobics, Step, Spinning, Aqua etc. I more recently headed up a community project commissioned to encourage Rotherham folk to be more physically active through walking more. I myself love walking and also enjoy Pilates; I recently qualified as a Pilates Instructor and completed my Exercise Referral qualification.
I am a crazy cat lady and mum to three fur babies (cats), Kylie, Heidi and Bobby. I sometimes pet sit for other cat owners and have previously volunteered as a driver for the Sheffield Cat Shelter.”
Amy Kinsella-Ford – Reception and Buildings Coordinator
Amy joins the organisation as Reception and Buildings Coordinator. She is responsible for providing reception services and assisting with the day to day running of SOAR Works, giving the highest standard of customer services to SOAR clients, tenants and building users.
“I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and learning new skills. I’m excited to work within an organisation that helps the community in so many ways.
Outside of work I enjoy socialising with friends and family, reading and baking. I am now also using the commute to work as an excuse to listen to audiobooks in an attempt to reduce my ever-increasing ‘to read’ list!”
Mariam Hussain – Health Trainer
Mariam joins the organisation as a Health Trainer and is responsible for helping clients improve their health through a holistic approach. This will be done in both: a 1-2-1 and group sessions.
“I am most excited about improving client’s overall health and wellbeing, supporting and encouraging them through their journey and feeling a sense of accomplishment once I receive positive feedback.
Outside of work I enjoy volunteering in the community, spending time with friends and family and going to the gym.”
