Over the summer, the Healthy Holidays programme led by Voluntary Action Sheffield will co-ordinate the preparation and distribution of 1500 healthy food hampers to families in North East Sheffield.
We are looking for volunteers who are available to do shifts of 3.5 hours (9.30-1pm and 1.30-5pm) on Mondays and Tuesdays in August to prepare the hampers at our collation centre in Firth Park.
We are also looking for volunteers who hold a full clean driving licence and who have or are willing to undertake a DBS check, to help with distribution of the hampers from Wednesday onwards each week in August.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed and PPE and refreshments provided. Online training in infection control, manual handling and safeguarding will also be provided where applicable.
If you are able to volunteer or would like more information, please contact Fran Belbin, firstname.lastname@example.org 07958559088
I was in a very bad place in my life, my wife was in hospital suffering with Dementia, awaiting to be transferred to a care. I was put in touch with SOAR through my GP Surgery.
Danny accompanied me to hospital meetings up to 2hrs at a time, and made a few visits to my home, to phone benefits people and fill in forms that we received.
I think without Danny Wild I would still be struggling, he made everything so straight forward, and relieved me off so much stress, can’t put to words how much he helped me.
