SOAR Works is home to some fabulous businesses, and this month we’re focusing on Aspire Community Enterprise.
The not-for-profit charity refurbish computers and laptops, selling the refreshed piece of kit. They offer free assessments, virus removals, upgrades, and a repair policy with a maximum £35 charge (excluding parts) as well as a no fix no fee guarantee!
Aspire is a social enterprise who work with vulnerable and disadvantaged people, encouraging and assisting them to gain work experience and training, and ultimately skills to get back into work.
Aspire rely on donations of old computers, screens and laptops in any condition, and can also recycle other electrical items such as game consoles, washing machines, keyboards and more.
They are a fully licenses Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment recycler and waste carrier, and all data on old computers is erased to modern standards for your peace of mind.
“The shop provides real opportunities on both sides of the sales counter,” said General Manager Dave Metcalfe. “On one side, customers can visit us and feel totally secure that they can purchase quality refurbished products at affordable prices suitable for any budget.
“The other side of the counter is used as a training environment for our service users, who want to learn about IT, customer service and retain. Most of our team are genuine volunteers, tech students and placements from other support organisations.
“All are motivated to give the customer a great buying experience, not because they have to but because they want to.”
