Share a love of reading with new friends

Getting on in years? Enjoy reading? Fancy a cup of tea and a chat with others just like you? Why not come down to Burngreave library for one of our ‘Reading Friends’ get togethers for the over-50s.

We spend a friendly hour or two reading aloud or listening to things we’ve liked over the years from books, magazines, novels, stories, poems and so on. We reminisce a bit and share whatever thoughts or memories the extracts might bring to mind.

It’s a chance to get out, meet old friends and make new ones – whether we’re talking about the people or the books and poems themselves. It’s free, cheerful and sociable (and we can offer some good home baking into the bargain).

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, ring Martin on 2966113 for the date and time of our next session. Or you could ring the library instead (2039002) or just pop in and ask at the desk if you’re passing.
