Part Time Roma Development Worker

As part of the ‘My Sheffield’ Project, Firvale Community Hub is recruiting a Bi-lingual Part time Roma Development Worker who will be based in Page Hall, Sheffield.

£7056 (£14ph) – 21 hours over 4 days – Fixed term 6 month contract

Role Requirements

You will have good English language skills and be fluent in at least one other language. We are particularly interested in Slovak, Czech and Roma languages.

Relevant experience in community development work

Role Responsibilities
Your role will include promoting and engaging families in better access to English at Home provision. You will engage volunteers from the local community to support this provision and conversation groups. You will also engage families with their children in family learning provision and carry out consultations with Roma families to establish why some aren’t engaging in the local English language learning provision.
