Festival Fun in Parson Cross!
Sometimes the community just needs to get together, relax, and have fun. That’s exactly what happened at the Parson Cross Summer Festival!
The week-long festival was thrown in partnership with SOAR, Sheffield City Council, Chaucer School, Parson Cross Initiative, and White Rose YMCA.
The goal of the festival? Get people out, having fun, and mingling with their neighbours!
The advantage of running a week-long festival is that we were able to have a variety of different activities available for all ages and genders.
We had multisports, circus skills, tech support from Google’s #DigitalGarage, a free showing of the musical Grease (complete with fancy dress), university outreach and activities and much, much more!
Then finally, on the Friday we had the big festival! In front of the Learning Zone we ran the final Festival Bash.
Many local organisations joined us to showcase their work and engage with Parson Cross. Organisations such as Drink Wise Age Well, Royal Society for the Blind, Chilypep, Together Women Project, Fox Hill Forum, Volunteering Matters, Wild at Heart, and of course SOAR was there with plenty of fun activities!
We are so thankful for everyone who joined us in the fun. It was an incredible week filled with some really engaging experiences. Every single day of the week we had children and parents beaming from ear to ear – and that was worth its weight in gold.
