Discover Library Volunteering

Volunteering with your local library is a great way to make new friends, inspire others and make a difference! Guy Weston, SOAR’s Health Manager, shares his experience of joining the wonderful volunteers of Burngreave Library.

Volunteering is a great way to gain confidence, make a difference, meet people, be part of a community and much more! With a diverse range of opportunities and activities taking place in a library, there are lots for you to choose from.

Burngreave Library is a hub of fantastic volunteers that bring their passion for books and children’s reading and they keep the library clean, tidy and open. They provide a friendly welcome to all!

Guy hopes to regularly volunteer at Burngreave Library. “The volunteer’s knowledge, skills and passion, alongside Marcia keeps the library going strong and a warm and vibrant place to be.”

Guy joined Margaret Hill on the busy front desk and said: “Guy was great at volunteering and really got stuck into helping find books for people.”

Burngreave Library is always looking to welcome new volunteers to the team. To find out how you can become part of the team, contact Marcia 0114 203 9002 (burngreave.library@soarcommunity.org.uk) for more information.
