Employment Services Client

“I am continually thankful to have had the guidance and support SOAR Community have provided to me. My Employment Advisor has consistently encouraged me along the way and in particular, through identifying Autism Plus as an organisation which would value my transferable skills and life achievements.

I am so happy to have a job I love and I now feel highly valued in my support role at this charity. The best thing I ever did was to walk through the doors of SOAR, Firth Park, as it has empowered me to make a difference”

Advocacy Client

I was in a very bad place in my life, my wife was in hospital suffering with Dementia, awaiting to be transferred to a care. I was put in touch with SOAR through my GP Surgery.
Danny accompanied me to hospital meetings up to 2hrs at a time, and made a few visits to my home, to phone benefits people and fill in forms that we received.
I think without Danny Wild I would still be struggling, he made everything so straight forward, and relieved me off so much stress, can’t put to words how much he helped me.
Thank you.

Health Trainer Client

I was very grateful to have the link from my GP which enabled me to access the tremendous services, SOAR Community, has provided to me. Through the support from the Health Trainer and the Employment Advisor, I have managed to achieve my independence once again.

They have continually encouraged me through difficult times and reminded me of my achievements. I now feel highly valuable in recognising my wealth of skills, especially in Education and Care. For the last five years I felt that I had lost everything, however, now through the help of SOAR and my newly found determination, I have gained it all back”.

“Just thought I would give you a little progress report about my journey with SOAR. I am originally from Oldham, having come to Sheffield to enter Phoenix House Rehabilitation, leaving behind family friends and my employment.  I lost my identity. I was put in touch with SOAR who linked me to one of their Volunteer Befrienders, who encouraged me to come along to some local groups.  I attended a GP Practice Health Champion training session which I thoroughly enjoyed.  Since then we have opened a Craft Group which has grown.
