SOAR seeking Cancer Champions

SOAR is looking for people who want to become Cancer Champions in our community!

Our Cancer Champions would help people in our community to have a better awareness and understanding of how to identify the symptoms of breast, lung, bowel, prostate and cervical cancer.

They would promote the important of being cancer safe by encouraging people to attend screening through their GPs as soon as they discover any unusual lumps or changes to their bodies.

SOAR’s Advocacy Aunt Column:

Dear Health Trainer,

I am feeling really fed up with myself, I have no motivation and sit in front of the TV watching the same programme every day.  I feel depressed and can’t be bothered to make an effort with anything at the moment. I am putting on weight, I don’t have a job, so don’t have much money.

Please could you help me?
